Gastric trichobezoar and Rapunzel syndrome
Journal of the American College of Surgeons, 200416-year-old woman with a history of depression presented with a -day history of increasing pain in the left upper quadrant, followed y 4 days of nausea and vomiting. She denied fever, chills, weight oss, or diarrhea. On examination, the patient was afebrile, hemodyamically stable, with a large abdominal mass primarily in the left pper quadrant.

Rapunzel Syndrome—A Case Report
American Journal of Gastroenterology, 1999The gastric trichobezoars usually occur in young girls, often those with psychiatric disorders. Rarely these are known to extend from the stomach to the small intestine as a tail, when they are termed the Rapunzel syndrome. Until 1997, only 10 such cases have been reported in the literature.
