Investigating the Origin of Non-Metallic Inclusions in Ti-Stabilized ULC Steels Using Different Tracing Techniques

open access: yesMetals
Since steel cleanness comes to the fore of steel producers worldwide, it is necessary to understand the formation mechanism and modification of non-metallic inclusions (NMIs) in more detail.

Effect of Rare Earth on Inclusions and Fatigue Properties of 20CrMnTi Gear Steel [PDF]

open access: yesTeshugang
To deeply investigate the effect of rare earth (La/Ce) on inclusions and fatigue properties of 20CrMnTi gear steel, the inclusions in 20CrMnTi and 20CrMnTi-RE gear steel treated with 0.002 7% rare earth were analyzed and characterized by various ...

Low Incidence of Relapses After Vaccination in Anti‐Aquaporin‐4 Antibody‐Positive NMOSD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) may experience increased signs and symptoms of their underlying disease when vaccinated against meningococcal disease before receiving complement component 5 inhibitor therapies. This retrospective analysis indicated an overall low relapse incidence (mean [range], 3.3% [0.7%–10.6 ...

High temperature oxidation behavior of heat resistant steel with rare earth element Ce

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
This study examined the oxidation properties of rare earth steel at high temperatures (600 °C–900 °C) in the air atmosphere by using Scanning Electronic Microscope (SEM) with an energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), x-ray diffraction analyzer (XRD) and ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Rare Earth Elements

open access: yes, 2021
This is the author accepted manuscript. The final version is available from Elsevier via the DOI in this record ; The rare earth elements (REE) consist of 17 elements Sc, Y and the lanthanoids La – Lu. Their magnetic and luminescent properties make them essential components of digital and low carbon technologies.

High‐Resolution MRI Revealed Different Etiology‐Specific Associations With Cerebral Infarction in Adult Moyamoya Vasculopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐resolution MRI enables detailed assessment of intracranial vessel wall pathology in moyamoya vasculopathy. We aimed to classify adult moyamoya vasculopathy etiologies using high‐resolution MRI and to examine subtype‐specific associations between high‐resolution MRI features and ischemic infarction.

Understanding Further the Phenotypic Spectrum of Central Nervous System Inflammatory Demyelinating Disorders Using Unsupervised Clustering

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) inflammatory demyelinating syndromes, including multiple sclerosis (MS), aquaporin‐4 antibody–positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (AQP4 + NMOSD), and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody–associated disease (MOGAD), occasionally overlap.

Effects of lanthanum on growth and accumulation in roots of rice seedlings

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2013
Hormetic effects on the growth were found in the roots of rice (Oryza sativa L. cv. Shengdao 16) exposed to increasing concentrations of La3+ (0.05, 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 mmol/L). The results indicated that La3+ promoted the growth of rice roots at 0.05
