Rare weak decays and nuclear structure
Weak interactions cause the atomic nuclei to decay via beta and double beta decays. Double beta decays are extremely rare since they are weak-interaction processes of the second order. Also (single) beta decays can be extremely rare.

K± → π± π0 e+ e− decay width calculation in the lepton center-of-mass system
We consider the rare decay K± → π± π0 e+ e− currently under analysis by the NA62 Collaboration. A new theoretical approach for the differential decay width has been performed.

A first search for rare decays of gadolinium isotopes was performed with an ultra-low background high-purity germanium detector at Gran Sasso Underground Laboratory (Italy). A 198 g $$\hbox {Gd}_2$$ Gd 2 $$\hbox {O}_3$$ O 3 powder sample was measured for

Rare beauty and charm decays at LHCb
Rare heavy flavor decays are an ideal place to search for the effects of potential new particles that modify the decay rates or the Lorentz structure of the decay vertices. The LHCb experiment, a dedicated heavy flavour experiment at the LHC at CERN.

Muon induced neutron background in rare decay studies [PDF]
Understanding and mitigating background radiation is crucial for rare decay searches. It is also important for very low cross section measurements relevant to nuclear astrophysics.

In this paper, we present a short review of searches for charged lepton flavour violation on the example of rare muon decays. We discuss the evaluation of electron spectrum for muon decay in orbit which is a background process for conversion experiments.

Axion-Like Particles at the ILC Giga-Z
Axion-Like Particles (ALPs) are a generic, calculable, and well motivated extension of the Standard Model with far reaching phenomenology. ALPs that couple only to hypercharge represent one subset of such models, coupling the ALP to both photons and the ...

Theoretical aspects of rare $B$ decays are reviewed. The focus is on the relation between short-distance interactions and physical observables. It is argued that there remain significant uncertainties in the theoretical treatment of certain important quantities.

We perform a search of double beta decay of 136Xe to the excited state, 0 1 + $$ {0}_1^{+} $$ , of 136Ba (2νββ- 0 1 + $$ {0}_1^{+} $$ ), using the dual-phase xenon detector of PandaX-4T with the first 94.9-day commissioning data.
