Miniature Soft Robot With Magnetically Reprogrammable Surgical Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Miniature soft robots have great prospects to revolutionize minimally invasive treatments. Here we present a miniature soft robot, which can be reprogrammed to perform five surgical functionalities with six‐degrees‐of‐freedom motions. This soft robot can prospectively make minimally invasive surgery considerably safer and painless, and enable ...

B ¯ s , d 0 $$ {\overline{B}}_{s,d}^0 $$ → J/ψμ + μ − decays in QCD factorization

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Motivated by the first LHCb searches for the rare B ¯ s , d 0 $$ {\overline{B}}_{s,d}^0 $$ → J/ψμ + μ − decays, we perform a detailed study of these processes within the QCD factorization formalism.

Inclusive Rare B Decays

open access: yes, 2001
We review the present status of rare B decays, focusing on inclusive decay modes and their role in our search for new physics. We also briefly discuss direct CP violation in rare B decays and the rare kaon decays $K^+\to \pi^+\nu\bar{\nu}$ and $K_L \to ...

Very Rare Decays at LHCb

open access: yes, 2016
Very rare decays are processes that are highly suppressed in the Standard Model, however theories that go beyond the Standard Model can often predict significant enhancements to their branching fractions making the study of very rare decays interesting ...

Clustomesogen Showing Sub‐Zero Liquid Crystal Properties: Supramolecular Assembly Between Cs2[Mo6Ii8(OCOC2F5)6] and Hexaethylenoxide Containing Mesogenic Dimers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Associating a red‐NIR phosphorescent octahedral hexanuclear molybdenum cluster compound with hexaethyleneoxide chains bearing mesogenic units on both ends leads to an emissive hybrid liquid crystal showing mesomorphism on a very unusual temperature range down to −25°C.

K Rare Decays with NA62

open access: yesIl Nuovo Cimento C, 2010
The long-term goal of NA62 is to measure the ultra rare K+/- -> pi+/- nu anti-nu decay with a sensitivity of 10^-12 per event. This is done by using the decay - in - flight technique which allows a signal acceptance of ~10% . The aim is to collect about 100 signal events in two years of data taking with a background to signal ratio smaller than 10%.

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Effective field theory analysis of rare |∆c| = |∆u| = 1 charm decays

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We perform a global analysis of |∆c| = |∆u| = 1 transitions using recent data on D 0 → μ + μ − , D + → π + μ + μ − , Λ c → p μ + μ − , and D 0 → π + π − μ + μ − decays, and work out constraints on new physics Wilson coefficients C 7 , 9 , 10 ′ $$ {C}_{7 ...

Rare decays from NA48

open access: yes, 2001
The NA48 collaboration has measured different rare decays using data obtained in normal K$_{L}$ and K$_{S}$ beam conditions for the ε′/ε measurement as well as a special run with a high intensity KS beam.
