Improved Standard-Model prediction for K L → ℓ + ℓ −
We present a comprehensive calculation of the K L → γ ∗ γ ∗ form factor in dispersion theory, using input from the leptonic decays K L → ℓ + ℓ − γ, $${K}_{L}\to {{\ell}}_{1}^{+}{{\ell}}_{1}^{-}{{\ell}}_{2}^{+}{{\ell}}_{2}^{-}$$ , the hadronic mode K L ...

More synergies from beauty, top, Z and Drell-Yan measurements in SMEFT
We perform a global analysis of Beauty, Top, Z and Drell-Yan measurements in the framework of the Standard Model effective theory (SMEFT). We work within the minimal flavor violation (MFV) hypothesis, which relates different sectors and generations ...

Theoretical aspects of rare $B$ decays are reviewed. The focus is on the relation between short-distance interactions and physical observables. It is argued that there remain significant uncertainties in the theoretical treatment of certain important quantities.

B → K∗µ+µ− and Form Factors for Semi-Leptonic and Radiative B Decays [PDF]
The hadronic environment of the LHC favours the study of exclusive modes, and of these semi-leptonic and radiative B decays will play a leading role in the search for new physics (NP).

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Uniting low-energy semileptonic and hadronic anomalies within SMEFT
Two categories of four-fermion SMEFT operators are semileptonic (two quarks and two leptons) and hadronic (four quarks). At tree level, an operator of a given category contributes only to processes of the same category.

FCNC charmed-hadron decays with invisible singlet particles in light of recent data
The flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) decays of charmed hadrons with missing energy (Ɇ) can serve as potentially promising hunting grounds for hints of new physics, as the standard-model backgrounds are very suppressed.

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

High-pT LHC constraints on SMEFT operators affecting rare kaon and hyperon decays
We consider the constraints on new physics affecting rare kaon and hyperon decay as parametrized by a low energy effective theory that can be obtained from high-pT observables at LHC. To this end, we match the relevant low energy Wilson coefficients onto

Rare $b$-hadron decays provide a rich environment to search for beyond Standard Model physics effects thanks to numerous observables. In the recent years, several tensions with the SM expectations have appeared.
