Age‐Related Characteristics of SYT1‐Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We describe the clinical manifestations and developmental abilities of individuals with SYT1‐associated neurodevelopmental disorder (Baker‐Gordon syndrome) from infancy to adulthood. We further describe the neuroradiological and electrophysiological characteristics of the condition at different ages, and explore the associations ...

Rare‐earth‐incorporated low‐dimensional chalcogenides: Dry‐method syntheses and applications

open access: yesInfoMat, 2020
Chalcogenide thin films incorporating rare‐earth (RE) elements with applications in optics, electronics, and magnetics have received considerable attention. Aiming at growing pure chalcogenides, dry‐method syntheses have been developed.

Effectiveness and Safety of Nusinersen and Risdiplam in Spinal Muscular Atrophy: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a rare genetic disorder marked by progressive muscle weakness and mobility loss. It has a profound physical, emotional and social impact on patients and caregivers, requiring comprehensive medical and supportive care.

Adult‐Onset Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis Presenting With Subacute Cognitive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe the case of a 41‐year‐old man diagnosed with adult‐onset subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). The patient presented with subacute progressive cognitive deficits and a neuropsychological profile indicating predominant frontoparietal dysfunction. MRI showed only mild parietal‐predominant cerebral atrophy.

Numerical Testing of The Rare Earth Hypothesis using Monte Carlo Realisation Techniques

open access: yes, 2010
The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) has thus far failed to provide a convincing detection of intelligent life. In the wake of this null signal, many "contact pessimistic" hypotheses have been formulated, the most famous of which is the ...

Whole‐Body Pattern of Muscle Degeneration and Progression in Sarcoglycanopathies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To characterize whole‐body intramuscular fat distribution pattern in patients with sarcoglycanopathies and explore correlations with disease severity, duration and age at onset. Methods Retrospective, cross‐sectional, multicentric study enrolling patients with variants in one of the four sarcoglycan genes who underwent whole‐body ...

Collapse of the hyperfine magnetic field at the Ru site in ferromagnetic rare earth intermetallics

open access: yes, 2009
The M\"{o}ssbauer Effect(ME) is frequently used to investigate magnetically ordered systems. One usually assumes that the magnetic order induces a hyperfine magnetic field, $B_{hyperfine}$, at the ME active site. This is the case in the ruthenates, where
