Semi-Automated Rasch Analysis with Differential Item Functioning

open access: yesBehavior Research Methods, 2022
Rasch analysis is a procedure to develop and validate instruments that aim to measure persons' traits. However, manual Rasch analysis is a complex and time-consuming task, even more so when the possibility of differential item functioning (DIF) is taken into consideration.

Electromagnetic corrections to the hadronic phase shifts in low energy pi+p elastic scattering [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys.A686:447-462,2001, 2000
We calculate the s and p-wave electromagnetic corrections which must be subtracted from the nuclear phase shifts obtained from the analysis of low energy pi+p elastic scattering data, in order to obtain hadronic phase shifts. We compare our results with earlier calculations and estimate the uncertainties in the corrections.

Electromagnetic corrections for the analysis of low energy pi-p scattering data [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys.A686:463-477,2001, 2000
We calculate the electromagnetic corrections to the isospin invariant mixing angle and to the two eigenphases for the s and p-waves for low energy pi-p elastic and charge exchange scattering. These corrections have to be applied to the nuclear quantities obtained from phase shift analyses of the experimental data in order to obtain the hadronic phases.

Spanish Version of the Flourishing Scale (FS) on the Parents of Children With Cancer: A Validation Through Rasch Analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2019
The interest in the study of flourishing is due to the fact that it has been proven that it contributes to a good adjustment to the demands of the environment, relating to indicators of health and well-being.

Finite-Element Discretization of Static Hamilton-Jacobi Equations Based on a Local Variational Principle [PDF]

open access: yesComput. Visual Sci. 9 (2006) 57-69, 2004
We propose a linear finite-element discretization of Dirichlet problems for static Hamilton-Jacobi equations on unstructured triangulations. The discretization is based on simplified localized Dirichlet problems that are solved by a local variational principle.

Assessment of school performance through a multilevel latent Markov Rasch model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
An extension of the latent Markov Rasch model is described for the analysis of binary longitudinal data with covariates when subjects are collected in clusters, e.g. students clustered in classes. For each subject, the latent process is used to represent the characteristic of interest (e.g.

Rasch analysis of the Herth Hope Index in cancer patients [PDF]

open access: yesHealth and Quality of Life Outcomes, 2018
The concept of hope has been measured using the Herth Hope Index (HHI) in different samples, but varying factor structures comprising different items from the HHI have been reported. Therefore, further testing with regard to the dimensionality of the instrument is recommended.

Applying Rasch analysis to evaluate and enhance the Academic Motivation Scale

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Psychology, 2021
Objective The 28-item Academic Motivation Scale (AMS) is a widely used measure of students’ motivation to learn but it has the common limitations of an ordinal scale such as low precision and unsuitability for parametric statistics.
