Quantum Computing Based Collaborative Optimum Mission Allocation Approach for Heterogeneous Multi Unmanned Vehicles

open access: yesIEEE Access
With the developing autonomous driving technologies today, unmanned vehicles - unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) and unmanned marine vehicles (UMV) - autonomously reach the desired target without human intervention.

Diabetes induces remodeling of the left atrial appendage independently of atrial fibrillation in a rodent model of type-2 diabetes

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology, 2021
Background Diabetic patients have an increased predisposition to thromboembolic events, in most cases originating from thrombi in the left atrial appendage (LAA).

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Becoming-rat: an examination of the politics of vermin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This Masters research is motivated by a twofold concern: to expand research into non-human animals in social and cultural geography, and to explore the possibilities of an anti-essentialist animal geography. Namely, this masters aims to use the Deleuzian

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

A Six-Stage Ablation-Driven Benchmarking Framework for Deep Learning-Based Deterioration Classification in Heritage Structures

open access: yesIEEE Access
This study presents two complementary contributions to the automated analysis of surface deterioration in historical buildings. First, we introduce a new large-scale dataset comprising 23,688 images across six deterioration categories, collected from ...
