The bionic-inspired Ti–15Mo gradient porous structures were fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM) for the first time in this work. The compression-compression fatigue behavior of functional gradient Ti–15Mo porous structures is investigated, with ...

Force‐Induced Control of Circularly Polarized Luminescence With Rotaxane Architecture
Force‐induced reversible on/off switching of circularly polarized luminescence is achieved with a rotaxane‐based supramolecular mechanophore. The mechanophore, featuring a chiral helicene luminophore, is incorporated as a first network cross‐linker into a double‐network organogel.

Pipeline Stress Test Simulation Under Freeze-Thaw Cycling via the XGBoost-Based Prediction Model
This study conducted ten freeze-thaw cyclic tests to clarify the effect of freeze-thaw cycles on the forces acting on the buried oil pipeline. The stress evolution in the Q345 steel pipeline versus the number of freeze-thaw cycles was obtained.

Nonequilibrium stationary states with ratchet effect [PDF]
An ensemble of particles in thermal equilibrium at temperature $T$, modeled by Nosè-Hoover dynamics, moves on a triangular lattice of oriented semi-disk elastic scatterers. Despite the scatterer asymmetry a directed transport is clearly ruled out by the second law of thermodynamics.

Micromechanical investigation of soil plasticity using a discrete model of polygonal particles [PDF]
The mechanical behavior of soils has been traditionally described using continuum-mechanics-based models. These are empirical relations based on laboratory tests of soil specimens.

CRYOGENIC RATCHETING OF PRESTRAINED AUSTENITIC STAINLESS STEEL S30408
Taking advantage of the EUM-25 K20 tension-torsion fatigue testing machine by CARE,the cryogenic uniaxial ratcheting tests were carried out for the S30408 specimens with and without weld, and with 0%,8%,and 12% pre-strains at110 K.

Magnetic ratchet effect in phosphorene [PDF]
The magnetic ratchet effect has been studied in phosphorene by the use of the Boltzmann kinetic equation that is a semi-classical approach. The Hamiltonian of phosphorene in a steady parallel magnetic field is derived using the tight-binding model. We consider the effect of the magnetic field on non--linear dynamics in the presence of an ac laser field

Debt maturity and the leverage ratcheting effect [PDF]
