Adaptive Bit Rate capable video caching and scheduling

2013 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2013
Adaptive Bit Rate Streaming (ABR) has become a popular video delivery technique, credited to improving the quality of delivered video on wireless networks. At the same time, recent research has shown video caching in the Radio Access Network (RAN) can be a promising way to increase capacity of the network while reducing video latency and improving ...

Spatial resolution and rate capability of MICROMEGAS detector

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2001
Abstract We report on recent measurements of MICROMEGAS: spatial resolution and rate capability. The spatial resolution has been studied using several gas mixtures at the CERN PS test beam. With a gas filling of CF4 and 20% isobutane, an accuracy of 12 μm has been measured at normal incidence.

4.2: Counting rate capability

2015
This deliverable, “Counting rate capability”, is part of the task 4.2 “The Intensity Frontier”. It aims to report the rate capability of the technology used for the Multi-Blade detector. The Multi-Blade is a 10 B -based detector conceived to face the challenge of the counting rate capability arising from the neutron reflectometry at the European ...

Discharge rate capabilities of alkaline AgCuO2 electrode

Journal of Power Sources, 2007
A series of AgCuO2 samples are prepared and tested as alkaline cathode materials for primary batteries. AgCuO2 discharges via four equivalent-charge reduction processes, the rate capabilities of which are determined. At ambient temperature AgCuO2 displays superior rate capabilities for the two highest voltage processes.

Lithium-Ion Batteries with High Rate Capabilities

ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, 2017
Rate capability has always been an important factor in the design of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), but recent commercial demands for fast charging LIBs have added to this importance. Although almost all works devoted to the LIB electrode materials examine the rate capability somehow, there are growing efforts in the quest for high rate capability LIBs.

Assessment of circuit capability and preparation of rating sheets

Second International Conference on the Reliability of Transmission and Distribution Equipment, 1995
The need to work power systems harder using the best knowledge of its capability is central to the objectives of the National Grid Company (NGC) Technology and Science Division (UK). This objective must be balanced by appropriate work on the impact of loading regimes on the life expectancy and maintenance requirements of the power system.

Increasing the rate capability of batteries with electrolyte flow

Applied Energy, 2013
Abstract A theoretical analysis is provided to describe the recently proposed ‘convection battery’, wherein electrolyte flow is driven through a battery cell to alter its efficiency and power. Concentrated-solution theory rationalizes the observation that imposition of electrolyte flow parallel to the current through a separator can reduce ...

Improving rate capability of Resistive Plate Chambers

Journal of Instrumentation, 2016
The High Luminosity phase of Large Hadron Collider, foreseen to start in less then ten years from now, has triggered the development of a new generation of gaseous detectors with much improved performance with respect to the present ones. For what concerns Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs), research is focusing on the methods to increase their rate ...

Homeostatic capability of rate-sensitive feedback system: mathematical model

American Journal of Physiology-Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology, 1984
We have predicted the mathematical model of rate-sensitive feedback control system and have investigated its homeostatic capability by using computer simulations. The results are summarized as follows. By installing a cyclic enzyme system as feedback control element, we could assume the rate-sensitive feedback system at molecular level.
