Increase in Cardiac Output with Rate-Responsive Pacemaker
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1986Patients with myocardial insufficiency or patients during high cardiac work loads increase cardiac output (CO) only through an increase in heart rate (HR), which is not possible with a VVI pacemaker. This clinical study tests the hypothesis that the respiratory-dependent pacemaker (RDP) is able to increase CO by an increase in HR.

Money, Exchange Rates, and Output
1996Guillermo Calvo, who foresaw the financial crisis that followed the devaluation of Mexico's peso, has spent much of his career thinking beyond the conventional wisdom. In a quiet and understated way, Calvo has made seminal contributions to several major research areas in macroeconomics, particularly monetary policy, exchange rates, public debt, and ...

Output estimation with multi-rate sampling
International Journal of Control, 1988The proposed identification algorithm uses output values y(KJT), sampled after J intervals of duration T, and input values u(kT), where k = 0, 1, 2,.... It is proven that the estimated output ŷ(kT) converges asymptotically to the measured output al each sampling instant. The significance of the algorithm is that it provides a basis for control based on

Pulsation of the growth rate of output and technology
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2011Abstract The pulsation of the growth rate of output is considered from the point of view of technological theory of production, which is based on the law of substituting for human, muscle- and brain-based work. It is shown that the pulsation is connected with pulsation of technological characteristics of installed production equipment.

Output, the Real Exchange Rate, and the Crises in Turkey [PDF]
Since the 1980s, most emerging economies have experienced economic crises associated with large, prolonged current account deficits and real exchange rate misalignment. Eventually these governments ended up devaluing national currencies. Empirical evidence from developing countries suggests that devaluation, in most cases, have been contractionary due ...
