An Efficient General Family of Estimators for Population Mean in the Presence of Non-Response
This paper presents a new general family of estimators to estimate the population mean of study variable y in the presence of non-response when utilizing a known coefficient of variation of study variable y.

Estimation of a Distribution function under Sampling on Two Occasions
Estimation of the distribution function under sampling on two occasions with a simple random sampling design on each occasion is investigated. Composite regression and ratio type estimators are considered, using values of the study variable as auxiliary ...

Discriminative Density-ratio Estimation [PDF]
The covariate shift is a challenging problem in supervised learning that results from the discrepancy between the training and test distributions. An effective approach which recently drew a considerable attention in the research community is to reweight the training samples to minimize that discrepancy.

The generalization of ratio-cum product estimator for the arbitrary sample design
The generalization of a dual to ratio-cum-product estimator of the finite population total for the arbitrary sample design is given. The approximate variance is calculated and variance estimator is constructed.

A Class of Estimators for Estimating the Variance of the Ratio Estimator
Summary: We have proposed a class of estimators for the variance of the ratio estimator which includes two standard estimators \(V_0\), \(V_2\) and the estimators \(V_H\) and \(V_3\) suggested by \textit{R. M. Royall} and \textit{K. R. Eberhardt} [Sankya, Ser. C 37, 43--52 (1975; Zbl 0335.62007)] and \textit{C. F.

Interval Estimation for the Sortino Ratio and the Omega Ratio [PDF]
In this article, asymptotic confidence intervals (CIs) for the Sortino and Omega ratios are proposed and analyzed. First, the CIs are derived under the assumption of temporal independence and identical distribution of returns. Later they are obtained assuming that the returns process is strictly stationary and α-mixing of a certain size.

On Some Predictive Ratio Type Estimators in Two Stage Sampling [PDF]
Some predictive ratio type estimators in two stage sampling are derived following the model free predictive criterion proposed by Basu (1971) and these estimators are compared with the classical multistage ratio estimator and also with Smith’s (1969 ...

Ratio estimation in SIMS analysis [PDF]
The determination of an isotope ratio by secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) traditionally involves averaging a number of ratios collected over the course of a measurement. We show that this method leads to an additive positive bias in the expectation value of the estimated ratio that is approximately equal to the true ratio divided by the counts of

A Ratio Estimator Under General Sampling Design
Recently, many authors introduced ratio-type estimators for estimating the mean, or the ratio, for a finite populations. Most of the articles are discussing this problem under simple random sampling design, with more assumptions on the auxiliary variable
