Field‐level crop choice responses to weather‐induced yield shocks in the US Corn Belt

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract As climate change increases the frequency and severity of extreme heat events, farmers are expected to face greater variability in crop yields. Using 10 million field‐level observations, this study examines how farmers in the US Corn Belt adjust corn–soybean rotation decisions in response to yield shocks largely driven by weather fluctuations.

What political theory can learn from conceptual engineering: The case of “corruption”

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Political Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Conceptual change is commonplace in political theory. Recent scholarship argues that improving a concept, or “engineering” it, can sharpen its normative and explanatory power. This article illustrates what political theory can learn from conceptual engineering (CE) by examining the evolution of “corruption” as a case study.

No added cost: Emotion recognition in co‐occurring ADHD and ASD

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Facial emotion recognition (FER) is fundamental for social interaction, yet this ability is often impaired in attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). While research has documented these difficulties, two key questions remain: Are these deficits specific to recognising emotions or do they ...

Variability of motor imagery in children with cerebral palsy examined using the Hand Laterality Test

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, EarlyView.
Variability of motor imagery performance in children with cerebral palsy. Abstract Aim To examine motor imagery performance in children with cerebral palsy (CP) compared to typically developing children and develop a composite motor imagery score to differentiate between the two groups. Method In this cross‐sectional case–control study, 37 participants

Macroeconomic Dynamics under Rational Inattention [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper develops a general equilibrium model with Dixit-Stiglitz preferences, monopolistic competition and rational inattention on the side of both households and firms. We show how to solve a general equilibrium model with rational inattention.

Annual Research Review: What processes are dysregulated among emotionally dysregulated youth? – a systematic review

Proliferation of the term “emotion dysregulation” in child psychopathology parallels the growing interest in processes that influence negative emotional reactivity. While it commonly refers to a clinical phenotype where intense anger leads to behavioral dyscontrol, the term implies etiology because anything that is dysregulated requires an impaired ...

A “quantized” approach to rational inattention [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Economic Review, 2017
Abstract In this paper, I propose a model of rational inattention where the choice variable is a deterministic function of the exogenous variables, and still only a finite amount of information is being used. This holds provided the choice variable is discrete rather than continuous; that is, the mapping from the realization of the exogenous ...
