Spectral Dependence of Coherent Backscattering of Light in a Narrow-Resonance Atomic System [PDF]
We report a combined theoretical and experimental study of the spectral and polarization dependence of near resonant radiation coherently backscattered from an ultracold gas of 85Rb atoms. Measurements in an approximately 6 MHz range about the 5s^{2}S_{1/

Open Source SDR Frontend and Measurements for 60-GHz Wireless Experimentation
This paper aims to make 60-GHz experimentation possible for a wider range of research groups. We do this by describing a low-cost front-end that can be used in combination with any baseband processing platform.

Rayleigh Backscattering Noise Alleviation in Long-Reach Ring-Based WDM Access Communication
In the paper, we propose and design a ring-topology wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) access network for long-reach signal transmission. Here, the new central office (CO) and optical network unit (ONU) modules are designed to construct the ring ...

Coherent Backscattering of light in a magnetic field
This paper describes how coherent backscattering is altered by an external magnetic field. In the theory presented, magneto-optical effects occur inside Mie scatterers embedded in a non-magnetic medium.

SHM of Reinforced Concrete Elements by Rayleigh Backscattering DOFS
This document showcases the latest research conducted within UPC–BarcelonaTech on the performance of distributed optical fiber sensors (DOFS), more specifically the case of the optical backscattered reflectometry (OBR) system, in the structural health ...

Hybrid WDM FSO Fiber Access Network With Rayleigh Backscattering Noise Mitigation
In the paper, we present and investigate an integrated wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) free space optical (FSO) fiber access network for 51 km long-reach connection. Here, the proposed network architecture also can mitigate Rayleigh backscattering

25-GHz-Spaced DWDM-PON With Mitigated Rayleigh Backscattering and Back-Reflection Effects
A novel 25-GHz-spaced dense wavelength-division multiplexing passive optical network (DWDM-PON) is proposed to improve the utilization of wavelength resource and mitigate the Rayleigh backscattering (RB) and back-reflection effects.

Tunable Raman fiber laser induced by Rayleigh back-scattering in an ultra-long cavity [PDF]
We report an ultra-long Raman laser with a 46 km fiber length that behaved as a Rayleigh back-scattering–based optical feedback. The laser was tunable from 1550 nm to 1571 nm (3 dB bandwidth) with the insertion of an optical grating filter.
