Reciprocal Asymmetric Transmission in Directionally Metallized Silica Nanogratings With Broken Lateral Mirror Symmetry

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 15, 13 August 2026.
Directional silver coating breaks lateral mirror symmetry in a reciprocal silica nanograting. Opposite in‐plane illumination directions redistribute optical power differently among diffraction and absorption channels, producing strong polarization‐preserving lateral transmission contrast.

Characterizing electronic noise interference from the external laser positioning system on a radiation therapy MRI simulation scanner

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Background Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for radiation therapy treatment planning is currently being used in many anatomical sites to better visualize soft tissue landmarks, a technique known as an MRI simulation. A core component of modern MRI simulation configurations are the use of external laser positioning systems (ELPS) to help set up

Toward Enhanced Inertial Sensing via Dynamically Soft Topological States in Piezoelectric Microacoustic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 62, 3 August 2026.
A piezoelectric microacoustic wave device exploiting topologically protected interface states with significantly higher dynamic compliance than Lamb or Rayleigh modes achieves record‐high out‐of‐plane particle velocities exceeding 51 m/s. These findings indicate that leveraging topological interface states can overcome key limitations of piezoelectric ...

Flexible Dielectric Acoustic Resonator Patch for Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 43, 3 August 2026.
A flexible dielectric acoustic resonator patch enables MHz‐range ultrasound generation through resonance amplification without using piezoelectric materials. Conformal integration on a curved substrate allows efficient acoustic delivery to tissue‐mimicking environments.
