Hardware realization of a low complexity fading filter for Multipath Rayleigh fading simulator [PDF]

open access: yes2010 IEEE 11th Annual Wireless and Microwave Technology Conference (WAMICON), 2010
A low-complexity high performance Rayleigh fading simulator, and its Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) implementation are presented. This proposed method is a variant of the method of filtering of the white Gaussian noise where the filter design is accomplished in the analog domain and transferred into digital domain.

On the MIMO Capacity for Distributed System under Composite Rayleigh/Rician Fading and Shadowing

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2015
Wireless channels are commonly affected by short-term fading and long-term fading (shadowing). The shadowing effects must be taken into account also when mobility is present in the wireless scenario.

Tb3+‐Doped Glass‐Ceramic Scintillating Plates and Fibers for X‐Ray Imaging and Flexible Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A Tb3+‐doped glass‐ceramic scintillator, with controlled Ba2GdF7 nanocrystal precipitation, was developed through a rational design strategy guided by phase diagrams and molecular dynamics simulations. The obtained material exhibits a high light yield of 41 800 photons/MeV (418%/BGO), a spatial resolution of 25.3 lp/mm, and exceptional thermal ...

Terahertz Channel Modeling, Estimation and Localization in RIS‐Assisted Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces have become a recent intensive research focus. Based on practical applications, channel strategies for RIS‐assisted terahertz wireless communication systems are categorized into three different types: channel modeling, channel estimation, and channel localization.

Device‐Level Implementation of Reservoir Computing With Memristors

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Reservoir computing (RC) is an emerging computing scheme that employs a reservoir and a single readout layer, which can be actualized in the nanoscale with memristors. As a comprehensive overview, the principles of RC and the switching mechanisms of memristors are discussed, followed by actual demonstrations of memristor‐based RC and the remaining ...

Convexity properties of outage probability under rayleigh fading

open access: yes2012 20th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2012
In this paper, convexity properties of outage probability are investigated under Rayleigh fading for an average power-constrained communications system that employs maximal-ratio combining (MRC) at the receiver. By studying the first and second order derivatives of the outage probability with respect to the transmitted signal power, it is found out ...

Physical Reservoir Computing for Smart Manufacturing of PCB Using Crystallinity‐Controlled HfO2 Memristor for Reservoir

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
We address multilayer PCB anomaly detection for smart manufacturing by physical reservoir computing with HfO2‐based memristors. Crystallinity‐tuned HfO2 suppresses ferroelectricity while preserving the high‐k insulating state and confers strong short‐term memory.
