Numerical investigation of free convection within a circular cavity with a flexible fin [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija
The problem of unsteady natural convection inside a circular cavity containing a flexible fin is numerically studied in this work. The cavity's left side is hot, while the right side is cold.

Phase Engineering of Atomically Precise Nanoclusters (APNCs) of Gold and Beyond

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Engineering the structural phase of materials is of paramount importance for both fundamental research and practical applications. In this Review, we summarize the recent progress in controlling the phases of atomically precise nanoclusters (APNCs) of gold, silver and copper, as well as bimetallic systems. The phase‐enabled material properties of APNCs

Impacts of high viscosity variation and internal heating on mantle convection in different aspect ratio cells

open access: yesHeliyon
This study examines the Rayleigh-Bénard convection model with free slip boundary conditions appropriate for the Earth's mantle in narrow and elongated cells with aspect ratios of 1:2 and 2:1, respectively.

Convection in an ideal gas at high Rayleigh numbers [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2011
Numerical simulations of convection in a layer filled with ideal gas are presented. The control parameters are chosen such that there is a significant variation of density of the gas in going from the bottom to the top of the layer. The relations between the Rayleigh, Peclet and Nusselt numbers depend on the density stratification.

Omnidirectional Ultra‐Broadband Cu/TiO2 Metasurface Absorbers for High‐Efficiency Solar Thermal Conversion and Photothermal Plasmon‐Driven Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface shows selective solar–thermal energy conversion with high‐activity solar/laser‐driven chemistry. The breakthrough is co‐designing broadband FP‐cavity + plasmonic LSPR/SLR resonances in an ultra‐thin metamaterial so that it not only harvests the most efficient proportion of solar radiation but also suppresses mid and IR emissivity. Moreover,
