Analytical ultracentrifugation (AUC) is a powerful and versatile tool for studying biomolecular interactions. The purpose of this commentary is to provide foundational knowledge of the technique and its uses through the presentation of two case studies in which AUC provides key data to answer research questions.

Abstract We present array‐scale (∼500 × 500 km) anisotropic shear‐velocity models from two Pacific ocean‐bottom seismometer (OBS) arrays of the OBS Research in the Convecting Asthenosphere (ORCA) experiment: Young ORCA (∼43 Ma) and Old ORCA (∼90 Ma). Rayleigh‐wave phase velocities spanning 5–150 s are combined with Love‐wave phase velocities from 5 to ...

Abstract This paper explores the impact of natural phenomena on signal data transmission across various ionospheric communication channels. The study focuses on three primary phenomena: meteor trails prevalent in the middle‐ and lower‐latitude ionosphere, bubble and plume structures observed around the equatorial ionosphere, and magnetic‐storm‐induced ...

Abstract Rayleigh‐Taylor instabilities within the upper mantle are investigated as a mechanism for the uplift of rift‐margin mountain ranges within the continents. Our focus is on the Transantarctic Mountains (TAM). These mountains form at the margin between East and West Antarctica and have been free from the effects of subduction for about 500 ...

Implementation of the Deep Blue Aerosol Algorithm on Geostationary Satellite Data
Abstract National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Deep Blue (DB) aerosol project aims to produce consistent, long‐term climate data records of atmospheric aerosol properties using satellite observations. The DB algorithm has been extensively applied to low Earth orbit (LEO) sensors, including the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer and

Abstract We describe a Geometry‐dependent surface Lambertian‐Equivalent Reflectivity (GLER) climatology developed to support operational retrievals for the Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) mission. This data set provides monthly and hourly surface reflectance for snow‐free land, snow‐covered land, and oceanic regions.

Abstract We examine the response of the ionosphere to the 10–13 May 2024 and 10–13 October 2024 geomagnetic storms, the two recent great geomagnetic storms of solar cycle 25. We identified the occurrence of ionospheric irregularities during the two geomagnetic storms.

Abstract Atmospheric resonance lidars targeting metallic species in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere have yielded insights into the dynamics of the middle and upper atmosphere for over 50 years. Recently, the technique has been extended to the metastable helium layer, which reaches up to 1,000 km or above.
