A Comparison of Ground Motion Intensity Measures for Estimating Collapse
This study examines the use of 15 different intensity measures (IMs) for estimating structural collapse using results from incremental dynamic analysis (IDA). IDA results from 54 numerical models were considered, including (i) 12 reinforced concrete (RC) frame structures, (ii) 16 RC wall–frame structures and (iii) 26 steel buckling‐restrained braced ...

ABSTRACT Background and Aims Nanomaterials are widely produced and used due to their unique physicochemical properties. Adding nano calcium carbonate to Unplasticized PolyVinyl Chloride (UPVC) improves durability and sustainability. Studies have shown that occupational exposure to UPVC powder can affect the health of employees.

Confocal Raman microscopy was used to map the dentin–enamel junction (DEJ) across four mammalian species. Chemical maps highlighted variations in mineral (phosphate/carbonate) and organic (amide/CH) phase. These results provide a comparative Raman framework to link tooth microchemistry with species‐specific structure and function.

Reliable Estimation of Wavenumbers for Calcite Peaks
The wavenumbers of the calcite peaks were accurately estimated using a combination of a He–Ne laser and Ne emission lines. The values following the ± symbol represent the expanded uncertainties, corresponding to an approximate 95% confidence interval. ABSTRACT The Raman‐shift wavenumber ( ∆ν~), which is calculated as the difference between the absolute

Abstract Investigations of hydrostatic pressure effects on microbial enzymatic processing are challenging but critical for understanding element cycling in the world's oceans. In this study, we developed and tested a stainless‐steel pressure cell capable of withstanding up to 110 MPa of hydrostatic pressure (equivalent to ~ 11,000 m depth), featuring ...

Mid‐Infrared Quantum Scanning Microscopy via Visible Light Beyond Spatial Correlations
This work introduces a raster‐scanning approach based on quantum imaging with undetected light (QIUL) that probes samples in the mid‐infrared (MIR) spectral range while performing detection in the visible domain. Unlike previous QIUL implementations, this technique operates independently of photon‐pair spatial correlations and relies solely on induced ...
