Magnetoelastic Rayleigh wave convolver
An epoxy−bonded LiNbO3−YIG−LiNbO3 composite structure has been constructed and operated as a magnetoelastic Rayleigh wave convolver with 50−MHz input signals. The acoustic signals were propagated on a (110) YIG surface and the convolution characteristics were studied as a function of the magnitude and direction of the applied magnetic field. Nonuniform

Rayleigh Waves in a Rotating Orthotropic Micropolar Elastic Solid Half-Space
A problem on Rayleigh wave in a rotating half-space of an orthotropic micropolar material is considered. The governing equations are solved for surface wave solutions in the half space of the material.

High-temperature high-sensitivity AlN-on-SOI Lamb wave resonant strain sensor
A piezoelectric AlN-on-SOI structured MEMS Lamb wave resonator (LWR) is presented for high-temperature strain measurement. The LWR has a composite membrane of a 1 μm thick AlN film and a 30 μm thick device silicon layer.

The axisymmetric Rayleigh waves in a semi-infinite elastic solid
: It is well-known that Rayleigh wave, also known as surface acoustic wave (SAW), solutions in semi-infinite solids are plane waves with signatory properties like the distinct velocity and exponentially decaying deformation in the depth.

Rayleigh-wave coupling to atmospheric compression waves* [PDF]
AbstractThe theory of dispersive Rayleigh waves coupled to atmospheric compressional waves is derived for the case of a solid surface layer. Numerical computation of phase and group velocity curves indicates that an additional branch may be introduced to the dispersion curves as a result of air coupling.

Study of high-resolution analysis of Rayleigh waves on the basis of the Choi–Williams distribution
Rayleigh wave exploration is widely used in the field of engineering investigation, which can analyze the near surface velocity structure. However, the traditional Rayleigh wave exploration data processing method can only provide the average change of ...

Rayleigh–bloch waves in CMUT arrays [PDF]
Using the small-signal electrical equivalent circuit of a capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer (CMUT) cell, along with the self and mutual radiation impedances of such cells, we present a computationally efficient method to predict the frequency response of a large CMUT element or array.
