Monitoring Groundwater Pumping Using Time‐Lapse Tomography From Ambient Seismic Noise

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Management of water resources will be of critical importance as the effects of climate change accelerate. This implies the need to monitor water resources with high spatial and temporal resolution. One way to meet this need could be passive seismic methods using ambient seismic noise. In this study, we present a novel approach using time‐lapse

Analysis of Thermal Dynamics of Floating Photovoltaic Systems

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 10, Issue 6, 29 March 2026.
A scalable methodology couples computational fluid dynamics‐derived wind decay functions with a dynamic heat transfer model to capture spatial temperature variations across large floating photovoltaic systems and is validated with data from the Netherlands floating photovoltaic systems (FPV) site.

Motional Induction in Ganymede's Ocean

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 6, 28 March 2026.
Abstract We investigate the magnetic signature of oceanic circulation in Ganymede's subsurface ocean using kinematic induction modeling. Our approach couples zonal jet flows from rotating thermal convection simulations with magnetic field models incorporating Ganymede's internal dynamo and external contributions from Jupiter.

Auroral Emissions on Ganymede: New Constraints on Their Electron Energy Dependence

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 6, 28 March 2026.
Abstract Auroral emissions on Ganymede provide critical insights into its magnetospheric dynamics and atmospheric composition. Using a physics‐based atmospheric model with recent atmospheric observations and laboratory measurements of electron‐impact cross‐sections, this study revisits and significantly refines the relationship between auroral emission

Monitoring Near‐Surface Changes Using Anthropogenic Seismic Vibrations

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 6, 28 March 2026.
Abstract The abundance of anthropogenic seismic noise provides a valuable resource for monitoring dynamic subsurface property changes. We utilize railway and wind turbine‐induced vibrations recorded by a geophone array to estimate surface wave attenuation and velocity in the underlying glacial deposits of Illinois.

Rapid Evolution of Super Equatorial Plasma Bubbles and X‐Pattern EIA Formation During Extreme Storm Conditions on 12 November 2025

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 6, 28 March 2026.
Abstract Extreme conditions during storms profoundly alter the evolution of equatorial plasma bubbles (EPBs), yet the key dynamics remains poorly understood. We document the rapid expansion, contraction, and decay of super EPBs in South America during the 12 November 2025 storm with Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) Bz/By magnitude exceeding ∼50 nT ...
