Radiation-driven Implosion in the Cepheus B Molecular Cloud

open access: yes, 2010
We analyze large scale mapping observations of the molecular lines in the 12CO (J=2-1), 12CO (J=3-2), 13CO (J=2-1), and 13CO (J=3-2) transition emissions toward the Cepheus B molecular cloud with the KOSMA 3m-telescope.

Sex differences in HIV effects on visual memory among substance-dependent individuals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
HIV’s effects on episodic memory have not been compared systematically between male and female substance-dependent individuals. We administered the Brief Visuospatial Memory Test–Revised (BVMT–R) to 280 substance-dependent HIV+ and HIV– men and women ...

Red dichromatic imaging improves visibility of bleeding during gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Bleeding frequently occurs during gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and bleeding points are sometimes difficult to detect. Red dichromatic imaging (RDI) was recently developed to improve the visibility of bleeding.

Magnetically Actuated Drops‐on‐Stilts Microrobots for Transport and Delivery of Hydrophobic Cargo

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Iron oxide nanoparticles and oil droplets in external magnetic fields form “drops‐on‐stilts” microrobots that transport hydrophobic cargo. Tunable nanoparticle–droplet interactions generate stilt‐like structures. Field rotation enables walking, obstacle navigation, and collective motion.

On the convergence of Maronna's $M$-estimators of scatter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, {we propose an alternative proof for the uniqueness} of Maronna's $M$-estimator of scatter (Maronna, 1976) for $N$ vector observations $\mathbf y_1,...,\mathbf y_N\in\mathbb R^m$ under a mild constraint of linear independence of any subset
