The study identifies Trichoderma ossianense, was can be isolated from grapevine roots, is capable of growing at alkaline pH and controls black‐foot pathogens, highlighting the vegetal residue‐based formulations that preserve its viability. Abstract BACKGROUND Fungi of the Trichoderma genus are used in vineyards as biological control agents mainly ...

RNA polymerase II-mediated rDNA transcription mediates rDNA copy number expansion in Drosophila
Ribosomal DNA (rDNA), which encodes ribosomal RNA, is an essential but unstable genomic element due to its tandemly repeated nature. rDNA’s repetitive nature causes spontaneous intrachromatid recombination, leading to copy number (CN) reduction, which must be counteracted by a mechanism that recovers CN to sustain cells’ viability.

B. thuringiensis and B. altitudinis, isolated from chitin‐enriched soil, causing mortality in Euchistus heros under laboratory conditions. First report of B. altitudinis in the control of E. heros. Abstract BACKGROUND Biological control using entomopathogenic microorganisms is a more sustainable alternative to chemical pesticides for managing insect ...

The flea beetle's glucosinolate‐based chemical defense fails to protect larvae from nematode infection. However, the defense inhibits the nematode's symbiotic bacteria, thereby potentially impairing nematode reproduction and biocontrol success. Abstract BACKGROUND The efficacy of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) in the biological control of insect ...

Background: Schizophrenia (SZ) is associated with chronic oxidative stress in the patient’s body. Previous studies revealed an increased copy number of genes for 47S pre-ribosomal RNA (pre-rRNA) in SZ patients. In this study, levels of

The alpha and beta diversity of the nasal microbiome differed among children with allergic rhinitis (AR), nonallergic rhinitis (NAR), and healthy controls (HCs). Compared to HC, AR had more Escherichia‐Shigella, Negativicoccus, and Campylobacter, while NAR had more Dolosigranulum and fewer Enterobacteriaceae.

macroH2A1 histone variant represses rDNA transcription
The regulation of ribosomal DNA transcription is an important step for the control of cell growth. Epigenetic marks such as DNA methylation and posttranslational modifications of canonical histones have been involved in this regulation, but much less is known about the role of histone variants.

DNA metabarcoding reveals wolf dietary patterns in the northern Alps and Jura Mountains
Understanding predator–prey interactions is crucial for wildlife management and human–wildlife coexistence, particularly in multi‐use landscapes such as western Europe. As wolves Canis lupus recolonize their former habitats, knowledge of their diet is essential for conservation, management and public acceptance.
