Shape classification of re-entrant particles II: Description of re-entrant and non-re-entrant particle shapes

Powder Technology, 1981
Abstract The definition of powder particle shape has been described both verbally and mathematically for relatively simple geometrical shapes. The analysis of more complex particle shapes has only been achieved mathematically. In this study we report a method for classifying re-entrant and non-re-entrant particle shapes, both mathematically and in ...

Re-entrant and induced mesophases: Mixed systems showing re-entrant TGBAand re-entrant cholesteric phases

Liquid Crystals, 1996
Abstract We have investigated the behaviour of chiral carbohydrate-based trioxadecalines with a cyano group in mixed systems. The mixture of a trioxadecaline having a Ch phase and a trioxadecaline having a Ch, SA and a S∗Cphase sequence induces a re-entrant TGBA and Ch phase. Below the stabilized S∗C phase, a re-entrant Ch phase is observed.

Pathophysiology of re-entrant dysrhythmias

European Heart Journal, 1984
Re-entry was demonstrated as a self-perpetuating mechanism as early as 1906. It may lead to single-cycle electrocardiographic phenomena as well as reciprocating tachycardias. Factors favouring re-entry are as follows. Unidirectional or temporary local block of conduction, a mechanism always involved in initiation of reciprocating rhythms but also of ...

Atrioventricular re-entrant tachycardia

2018
Atrioventricular (AV) re-entrant tachycardia (AVRT) is a type of supraventricular tachycardia, manifesting most commonly as a regular, narrow-QRS-complex tachycardia. It is usually a paroxysmal tachycardia, and is dependent upon the presence of an accessory electrical connection located between the atria and the ventricles (distinct and separate from ...

Re-Entrant Superconductivity

1983
The discovery of resistivity minima in metals at low temperatures dates back some fifty years, and yet the evolution of a successful theoretical account of the basic anomaly continues to this date. Originally observations1 on Mg, Mo, Te, Co and Pd yielded dramatic departures from the expected resistivity variation $$\rho (T) = {\rho _0} + B{T^5},$$

Re-entrant Hysteresis Loop Tracer

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1967
A simple method has been developed for displaying and measuring the important features of re-entrant hysteresis loops of ferromagnetic wires. A conventional ac loop tracer is modified by the addition of a pulse generator and an extra coil coaxial with the specimen.

Re-entrant ferrimagnetism in TbMn6Ge6

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1995
Abstract The magnetic ordering of the hexagonal compound TbMn 6 Ge 6 has been studied by neutron diffraction at various temperatures between 1.8 and 500 K. In almost the whole magnetically ordered regime the magnetic structures are incommensurate with the crystal lattice.

Re-entrant groove heat pipe

12th Thermophysics Conference, 1977
This paper describes theoretical and experimentally verified heat pipe characteristics of an axially grooved aluminum extrusion with a re-entrant groove profile. The extrusion is 13 mm diameter with 20 axial grooves, each groove consisting of a nominal .8 mm diameter channel with a .2 mm wide passageway connecting the channel to the hollow core.
