In the framework of continuum theory we study orientational transitions induced by electric and magnetic fields in ferronematics, i.e., in liquid-crystalline suspensions of ferromagnetic particles. We have shown that in a certain electric field range the

Mechanism of Cloud Cavitation Generation on a 2-D Hydrofoil [PDF]
When a sheet cavity on a hydrofoil section attains a certain size, it starts violent periodical oscillation shedding a harmful cloud cavity downstream at each oscillation cycle. This phenomenon is due to the occurrence of the re-entrant jet.

Axisymmetric Waves in Re-Entrant Cavities
We employ a well-established method to determine the dispersion properties of transverse magnetic and transverse electric waves in re-entrant cavities. We assume that the waveguide structure consists of a large number of identical cavities in order that the Floquet theorem could be applied to describe the electromagnetic field in an empty cylinder ...

One waveguide network is a 5-port turnstile junction consisting of three H-plane waveguides with a circular quarter wave long resonator on its axis, open circuited at one end and short circuited at the other. It is readily converted to a turnstile 3-port circulator by replacing the dielectric resonator by a gyromagnetic one and closing 2 of the 5 ports.

ABSTRACT Background Psychological safety (PS) is essential for teamwork, communication, and patient safety in complex healthcare environments. In pediatric oncology, interprofessional collaboration occurs under high emotional and organizational demands. Low PS may increase stress, burnout, and adverse events.

Summary: Cortico-cortical paired associative stimulation (ccPAS), which repeatedly pairs single-pulse transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) over two distant brain regions, is thought to modulate synaptic plasticity. We explored its spatial selectivity (

Static critical exponents of the ferromagnetic transition in spin glass re-entrant systems
The static critical phenomenology near the Curie temperature of the re-entrant metallic alloys Au_0.81Fe_0.19, Ni_0.78Mn_0.22, Ni_0.79Mn_0.21 and amorphous a-Fe_0.98Zr_0.08 is studied using a variety of experimental techniques and methods of analysis. We

Dual Atrioventricular Nodal Non–Re-Entrant Tachycardia
A patient presented with symptoms of palpitations. Her standard 12-lead electrocardiogram captured 3 potential causes of her symptoms (premature atrial contractions, junctional rhythm, and narrow complex tachycardia). Further workup uncovered dual atrioventricular node physiology with 1:2 sinus conduction and resultant alternating QRS from a slow and ...

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)
