Post-magmatic hydrothermal origin of late Jurassic Liwu copper polymetallic deposits, western China: Direct chalcopyrite Re-Os dating and Pb-B isotopic constraints

open access: yesOre Geology Reviews, 2017
Abstract The Liwu copper polymetallic deposits are located in the Jianglang Tectonic Dome in the southeastern Songpan-Ganzi Fold Belt. The deposits contain more than 0.8 million tonnes (Mt) of Cu, 0.5 Mt of Zn, 133 t of Ag and 1300 t of Co. However, the detailed geologic features, formation ages and metallogeny of these deposits remain poorly ...

Cobalt Single‐Atom Catalysts for Ultrafast Sulfamethoxazole Degradation: Unveiling the Chloride‐Ion‐Enhanced Formation of Co(IV)=O

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An atomically dispersed Co–N4 single‐atom catalyst rapidly activates peroxymonosulfate to remove the antibiotic sulfamethoxazole from water. Common ions have little impact, but chloride dramatically speeds degradation by promoting a high‐valent Co(IV) = O oxidant via in situ HOCl–catalyst electron transfer.

Regioselective Synthesis of Benzylsilanols from Kobayashi‐Type Reagents via C(sp3)─H Bond Activating 1,4‐Palladium Migration

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A Pd‐catalyzed regioselective synthesis of benzylsilanols from Kobayashi‐type reagents has been developed through a mechanistically distinct approach involving 1,4‐Pd migration followed by intramolecular transmetalation. The reaction can be combined with various prior transition‐metal‐catalyzed processes and the resulting benzylsilanols have been ...

Metabolism‐Based Biomarkers for Rapid Phenotypic Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Metabolic differences emerging after antibiotic exposure provide rapid phenotypic signals of susceptibility and resistance. This review summarizes metabolic biomarkers for rapid phenotypic AST, associated with nutrient uptake, respiratory activity, metabolic reprogramming, and enzymatic function. ABSTRACT The accelerating global crisis of antimicrobial

Local Chemical Gradients in a Mammalian Cortex Measured In Vivo With a Silicon Nanodialysis Mass Spectrometry Platform

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Fluorescence image of the coronal slice of mouse brain where multiple neurochemicals have been measured in vivo with a nanodialysis platform coupled to CE‐MS to reveal strong millimeter‐scale spatial chemical gradients. Formation and maintenance of such local chemical compartments in the otherwise diffusion‐homogeneous cortex indicates strong ...

Tectonic setting and metallogenic chronology of the Ashele Cu–Zn deposit in Xinjiang, NW China: Constraints from Re-Os dating of pyrite, U-Pb dating of zircon and Hf isotopes

open access: yesOre Geology Reviews, 2019
Abstract The Ashele Cu-Zn deposit, an important volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposit, is located in the centre of the Ashele volcano-sedimentary basin of the Altay metallogenic belt, North Xinjiang, NW China. The No. 1 orebody is located between the roof basalt and the base tuff. The roof basalt yielded a zircon U-Pb age of 342 ± 4.6 Ma (MSWD =

Emerging Materials and Future Strategies for Solid Oxide Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Solid oxide electrochemical cells operate under strongly coupled electrochemical and thermodynamic conditions, where performance is constrained by interactions among crystal structure, defect chemistry, and interfacial evolution. This review, based on a structure‐defect‐property‐durability framework, reveals the roles of lattice symmetry and defect ...
