Re‐Os isotope systematics in carbonates from Serpent Mound, Ohio: Implications for Re‐Os dating of crustal rocks and the osmium isotopic composition of Ordovician seawater [PDF]

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2004
Eleven core samples of Ordovician carbonates and shale from within and nearby the Serpent Mound (Ohio) cryptoexplosion structure were analyzed for Re‐Os isotopes. Whole‐rock samples span a large range in measured 187Os/188Os (0.714 to 6.083), and exhibit a linear correlation of 187Os/188Os with 187Re/188Os.

Archaean and Proterozoic diamond growth from contrasting styles of large-scale magmatism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Precise dating of diamond growth is required to understand the interior workings of the early Earth and the deep carbon cycle. Here we report Sm-Nd isotope data from 26 individual garnet inclusions from 26 harzburgitic diamonds from Venetia, South Africa.

A Review of Research Progress on Re-Os Isotopic System of Carbon-enriched Geological Samples

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2023
Re and Os are relatively enriched in organic-enriched sedimentary rocks under an anoxic environment due to their organophilic property, and the seawater Os isotopic composition is recorded during the deposition of sedimentary rocks.

The Jurassic Gangmei Mo-W deposit in Guangdong Province and its implication for Mo-W mineralization in South China

open access: yesSolid Earth Sciences, 2022
South China developed large-scale Mesozoic magmatism and polymetallic mineralization, especially Jurassic W-Sn and Mo-W mineralization. Compared with W-Sn deposits, Mo-W deposits in South China have received less attention.

The Constraints of Carbonaceous Mudstone Re-Os and Detrital Zircons U-Pb Isotopic Dating on the Diagenetic and Metallogenic Ages from the Dabaoshan Copper Deposit in Guangdong Province

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2022
BACKGROUND With the development of high-precision negative thermal ionization mass spectrometry (N-TIMS) technology, Re-Os isotopic dating of carbonaceous mudstone is more and more widely used in the determination of sedimentary age. The controversy over

The possible existence of Hs in nature from a geochemical point of view [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A hypothesis of the existence of a long-lived isotope 271Hs in natural molybdenites and osmirides is considered from a geochemical point of view. It is shown that the presence of Hs in these minerals can be explained only by making an additional ad hoc ...

Diagenetic and metallogenic ages, and geological significance of the Fujiashan skarn-type(Cu-) W Deposit, southeastern Hubei Province

open access: yes地质科技通报, 2021
The Fujiashan(Cu-) W Deposit, which is discovered recently, is one of the typical skarn deposit in southeastern Hubei.The(Cu-) W mineralization is closely associated with the Fujiashan granodiorite porphyry. In order to accurately determine the diagenetic
