FILTRATION AND REABSORPTION OF PROTEIN BY THE KIDNEY [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1954
Plasma proteins of the rat have been labelled by the in vivo injection of the dye T-1824. From a study of the rate of disappearance of T-1824 from the circulating blood, and the total T-1824 content of the perfused kidney the rate of protein reabsorption from the glomerular fluid by the cells of the renal tubule has been calculated.

Ecophysiological aspects of nectar reabsorption

open access: yesActa Agrobotanica, 2012
A number of approaches, both direct and indirect, have shown that nectar is reabsorbed by numerous plant species, irrespective of the age or sex of the flower.

Is the GFR‐based scaling approach adequate for predicting pediatric renal clearance of drugs with passive tubular reabsorption? Insights from PBPK modeling [PDF]

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology
Empirical maturation models (e.g., Johnson and Rhodin models) for glomerular filtration rate (GFR) are commonly used as scaling factors for predicting pediatric renal clearance, but their predictive performance for drugs featured with tubular ...

The Colloid Osmotic Pressure Across the Glycocalyx: Role of Interstitial Fluid Sub-Compartments in Trans-Vascular Fluid Exchange in Skeletal Muscle

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2021
The primary purpose of these investigations is to integrate our growing knowledge about the endothelial glycocalyx as a permeability and osmotic barrier into models of trans-vascular fluid exchange in whole organs.

Photoluminescence and energy transfer of YAG: Ce3+, Gd3+, Bi3+ [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Dielectrics, 2016
In this study, Gd3+ and Bi3+ ions act to redshift the emission band to orange region, and to enhance significantly the maximum emission of YAG: Ce3+. On account that size mismatch between the host and the doped Gd3+ ion, the crystal structure turns soft,

Influence of Several Compounds and Drugs on the Renal Uptake of Radiolabeled Affibody Molecules

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Affibody molecules are the most studied class of engineered scaffold proteins (ESPs) in radionuclide molecular imaging. Attempts to use affibody molecules directly labelled with radiometals for targeted radionuclide therapy were hampered by the high ...

Influence of the quantum dots bandgap and their dispersion on the loss of luminescent quanta

open access: yesSemiconductor Physics, Quantum Electronics & Optoelectronics, 2020
The method for estimating the loss of luminescent quanta caused by reabsorption has been proposed. The method is based on the analysis of absorption and luminescence spectra of quantum dots (QDs) with different radii and dispersion of radius .

Characteristics and mechanisms of resorption in lumbar disc herniation

open access: yesArthritis Research & Therapy, 2022
Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) can be spontaneously absorbed without surgical treatment. However, the pathogenesis and physiological indications for predicting protrusion reabsorption are still unclear, which prevents clinicians from preferentially ...

Investigation of a Pharmacological Approach for Reduction of Renal Uptake of Radiolabeled ADAPT Scaffold Protein

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Albumin binding domain-Derived Affinity ProTeins (ADAPTs) are small (5 kDa) engineered scaffold proteins that are promising targeting agents for radionuclide-based imaging. A recent clinical study has demonstrated that radiolabeled ADAPTs can efficiently
