Magnetohydrodynamics in a Reacting Medium

The Physics of Fluids, 1967
The effect of ionization and recombination on the propagation of waves through a three-component, magnetoactive plasma is examined in the magnetohydrodynamic limit. Ionization and recombination are assumed to result from several types of reactions. A new set of nonlinear equations is derived to describe the dynamic behavior of the system.

Numerical Simulation of Reacting and Non-Reacting Nozzle Flows

45th AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference & Exhibit, 2009
The purpose of this paper is to present the results of several numerical studies of internal nozzle flows. The simulated flow fields are of non-reacting, ideal-gas flows, as well as flows with chemical reactions of the combustion products passing through the nozzle. The combustion process itself is not being simulated.

A numerical solution for reacting and non reacting flow

2008
A Numerical technique for the prediction of laminar flows, with and without chemical reaction, through the solution of the compressible time-dependent NavierStokes equations is presented. The solution consists of an explicit, time marching, control volume technique which is second order accurate in time and space.

Inert and Reacting Transport

2005
Some aspects of passive transport in fluid flows are reviewed. Two classes of problems are considered: inert substances advected by fluid flows, and substances that chemically (or biologically) react while are advected. Concerning the former issue, we discuss it in the Lagrangian framework.
