A Non-Isothermal Chemical Lattice Boltzmann Model Incorporating Thermal Reaction Kinetics and Enthalpy Changes

open access: yesComputation, 2017
The lattice Boltzmann method is an efficient computational fluid dynamics technique that can accurately model a broad range of complex systems. As well as single-phase fluids, it can simulate thermohydrodynamic systems and passive scalar advection.

p-species integrable reaction-diffusion processes

open access: yes, 2001
We consider a process in which there are p-species of particles, i.e. A_1,A_2,...,A_p, on an infinite one-dimensional lattice. Each particle $A_i$ can diffuse to its right neighboring site with rate $D_i$, if this site is not already occupied.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Exponential synchronization for reaction-diffusion neural networks with mixed time-varying delays via periodically intermittent control

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2014
This paper deals with the exponential synchronization problem for reaction-diffusion neural networks with mixed time-varying delays and stochastic disturbance.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Further Comparisons of Finite Difference Schemes for Computational Modelling of Biosensors

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2009
Simulations are presented for a reaction-diffusion system within a thin layer containing an enzyme, fed with a substrate from the surrounding electrolyte. The chemical term is of the nonlinear Michaelis-Menten type and requires a technique such as Newton

Time Fractional Fisher–KPP and Fitzhugh–Nagumo Equations

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
A standard reaction–diffusion equation consists of two additive terms, a diffusion term and a reaction rate term. The latter term is obtained directly from a reaction rate equation which is itself derived from known reaction kinetics, together with ...

Two classes of nonlocal Evolution Equations related by a shared Traveling Wave Problem

open access: yes, 2017
We consider reaction-diffusion equations and Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers (KdVB) equations, i.e. scalar conservation laws with diffusive-dispersive regularization.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Pattern formation of reaction-diffusion system having self-determined flow in the amoeboid organism of Physarum plasmodium

open access: yes, 1998
The amoeboid organism, the plasmodium of Physarum polycephalum, behaves on the basis of spatio-temporal pattern formation by local contraction-oscillators.
