Kolmogorov Equation for a Stochastic Reaction–Diffusion Equation with Multiplicative Noise

open access: yesMathematics
Reaction–diffusion equations can model complex systems where randomness plays a role, capturing the interaction between diffusion processes and random fluctuations.

Exact Solutions of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations by the Method of Group Foliation Reduction

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2011
A novel symmetry method for finding exact solutions to nonlinear PDEs is illustrated by applying it to a semilinear reaction-diffusion equation in multi-dimensions.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Regularity of Global Attractor for the Reaction-Diffusion Equation

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
By using an iteration procedure, regularity estimates for the linear semigroups, and a classical existence theorem of global attractor, we prove that the reaction-diffusion equation possesses a global attractor in Sobolev space Hk for all k>0, which ...

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Mathematical analysis of batch reactor performance for the enzymatic synthesis of cephalexin: Laplace Homotopy perturbation method and Adomian decomposition method

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
In this article, a mathematical model of diffusion reaction in kinetically controlled cephalexin synthesis in the batch reactor with penicillin acylase immobilized in glyoxyl-agarose is analyzed. The kinetic model is a non-linear non-stead-state reaction–

Long-time behavior of stochastic reaction–diffusion equation with multiplicative noise

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2020
In this paper, we study the dynamical behavior of the solution for the stochastic reaction–diffusion equation with the nonlinearity satisfying the polynomial growth of arbitrary order p ≥ 2 $p\geq2$ and any space dimension N.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
