Neutron source reaction cross sections
Physical Review C, 1977Accurate differential cross sections have been measured for the reactions /sup 2/H(d,/sup 3/He) n at 12.305 MeV, for /sup 3/H(p,/sup 3/He) n at 13.600 MeV, and /sup 2/H(t,/sup 4/He) n at 20.000 MeV. The relative error for most of the data is on the order of 1% and the scale error is less than 1%. The data are used to give absolute normalizations to the

Triton Reaction Cross Sections
Physical Review, 1958Measurements of the $\mathrm{D}(t, \ensuremath{\alpha})n$ reaction cross section at triton energies of 1.9 and 1.5 Mev have been made to resolve a disagreement among previously published values. Corrections for published values of the ${\mathrm{He}}^{4}(t, t){\mathrm{He}}^{4}$ and $\mathrm{T}(t, t)\mathrm{T}$ scattering cross sections are also ...

Quasi-elastic reaction cross sections
Zeitschrift fr Physik A Atoms and Nuclei, 1983Starting from the idea that a critical phenomenon separates deep-inelastic from quasi-elastic reactions, we introduce a simple procedure to calculate quasi-elastic cross sections. The results are compared with experimental data.

Perturbative calculations of nuclear-reaction cross-sections
Lettere al Nuovo Cimento, 1979The nuclear shell model has enjoyed a remarkable success in explaining a wide variety of detailed nuclear features. This proves that it is often convenient to describe the nuclear dynamics as a movement of independent nucleons in (single particle) central potentials, which are function of the nucleonic space, spin and charge co-ordinates.

Nuclear Reaction Cross-Section Theory
Reviews of Modern Physics, 1960A summary of compound nucleus processes is given and a method, based on the compound nucleus model, is given for estimating the magnitude and energy dependence of nuclear cross sections. Expressions for the logarithmic derivative were derived, based on the two nuclear potentials: a strong interaction model (real square-well potential) and a square-well

Compound-nuclear reaction cross sections via surrogate reactions
Nuclear Physics A, 2007The surrogate reaction method is an indirect technique for determining cross sections for nuclear reactions that proceed through a well-defined compound nucleus. In this method, the same compound nucleus is produced by an alternate (“surrogate”) reaction and its decay products measured. The assumptions underlying the method are examined for the special

Neutrino-nucleus reaction cross sections
Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2001Abstract To draw physics conclusions from the SNO data, it is crucially important to have reliable estimates of the neutrino-deuteron reaction cross sections. I describe here the latest calculations of these cross sections and assess their reliability.

Total reaction cross sections of photon induced reactions
Nuclear Physics, 1963The total cross sections for proton-induced reactions were studied for several nuclei in the region of A approximately 100 by the activation technique. The proton energy was 11.2 Mev. The results show that most reaction processes lead to uncharged exit channels. The experimental results were compared with the statistical model.

Heavy-ion total reaction cross sections
Zeitschrift fr Physik A Atoms and Nuclei, 1984A one-parameter expression has been found which predicts with a smaller χ2 than previous expressions, the total reaction cross sections for a large number of heavy-ion systems covering a wide energy range. The expression uses an interaction radius which is a sum of the equivalent uniform matter radii of the interacting nuclei plus and energy-dependent ...
