Nucleus-nucleus total reaction cross sections

Physical Review C, 1980
We compare ${\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{R}(E)$ for nucleus-nucleus systems (obtained from existing direct measurements and derived from elastic scattering data) with nucleon-nucleon and nucleon-nucleus data. The energy dependence of ${\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{R}(E)$ for nucleus-nucleus systems is found to be quite rapid; there appears to be no evidence for an ...

Multiple Reaction Correction to Neutron Reaction Cross Sections

Nuclear Science and Engineering, 1973
The importance of the multiple reaction correction to cross sections above ∼0.1 MeV is demonstrated by deriving a simple formula for a thin-slab sample utilizing a limited multigroup, spatially ave...

Absolute cross sections for stripping reactions

Nuclear Physics, 1966
Abstract The absolute cross sections for (t, d) and (t, p) reactions are calculated using a simple wave function to describe the motion of the nucleons in the triton. In both cases we obtain reasonable agreement with the experimental data.

Cross Sections of Gamma-Proton Reactions

Physical Review, 1951
Using the University of Pennsylvania betatron, the energy dependences of the $\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{-}p$ cross sections of C, Al, Co, Ni, and Cb have been measured. The cross-section curves exhibit the resonance character found in $\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{-}n$ reactions.

Cross sections of neutron-induced reactions

Physical Review C, 2010
We study the properties of the neutron-nucleus total and reaction cross sections for several nuclei. We have applied an analytical model, the nuclear Ramsauer model, justified it from the nuclear reaction theory approach, and extracted the values of 12 parameters used in the model.

Fluctuations in nuclear reaction cross-sections

Il Nuovo Cimento, 1962
Gross structure is observed in the cross sections for neutron reactions on nuclei with A near 30, when the cross sections are plotted as functions of the neutron energy (between about 2 and 5 Mev). The observed peaks are much more closely spaced than would be the case if they were caused by single compound- nucleus energy levels.

High-energy reaction cross sections of light nuclei

Physical Review C, 1989
The high-energy reaction cross sections of Li and Be isotopes are calculated using a simplified Glauber model and densities constrained by the empirical binding energies. We find excellent agreement with experiment, reproducing the large increase for the most neutron-rich nuclei.

Cross sections for the alkali atom-Br2 reactions

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1973
The reaction cross sections of alkali metal atoms with bromine molecules have been obtained by direct measurements of alkali atom decay rates. The alkali atoms were produced in the presence of a known amount of bromine molecules by photodissociating the bromide of the particular alkali atom with a short pulse of uv light.

Reaction cross sections of unstable nuclei

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2006
Experimental studies on reaction cross sections are reviewed. The recent developments of radioactive nuclear beams have enabled us to measure reaction cross‐sections for unstable nuclei. Using Glauber‐model analysis, effective nuclear matter density distributions of unstable nuclei can be studied.

PHOTONEUTRON REACTION CROSS SECTIONS FOR In

Ядерная физика / Physics of Atomic Nuclei
New data for cross sections of partial reactions (γ, 1n) and (γ, 2n) were obtained using both published data for neutron yield cross-section σ(γ, ) = σ(γ, ) + 2σ(γ, ) and total photoneutron reaction cross-section σ(γ, ) = σ(γ, ) + σ(γ, ) determined in experiment on the bremsstrahlung beam.
