The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

87Y(n,γ) and 89,90Zr(n,γ) cross sections from a surrogate reaction approach

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
The surrogate reaction approach is an indirect method for determining nuclear reaction cross sections which cannot be measured directly or predicted reliably.

Reaction cross sections of the deformed halo nucleus 31Ne

open access: yes, 2012
Using the Glauber theory, we calculate reaction cross sections for the deformed halo nucleus $^{31}$Ne. To this end, we assume that the $^{31}$Ne nucleus takes the $^{30}$Ne + $n$ structure.

Probing neutron-skin thickness with total reaction cross sections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We analyze total reaction cross sections, $\sigma_R$, for exploring their sensitivity to the neutron-skin thickness of nuclei. We cover 91 nuclei of O, Ne, Mg, Si, S, Ca, and Ni isotopes.

Reaction cross-section predictions for nucleon induced reactions

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2011
A microscopic calculation of the optical potential for nucleon-nucleus scattering has been performed by explicitly coupling the elastic channel to all the particle-hole (p-h) excitation states in the target and to all relevant pickup channels.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A study on (n, α) reaction cross sections using a new empirical systematic

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2023
In this article, we report a new empirical formula for quick calculation of cross sections of (n, α) reactions with 14–15 MeV neutrons. Cross sections are analysed in terms of the compound nucleus model. A systematic trend for 14–15 MeV neutrons is found

Measurement of (n, f) and (n, xn) cross sections with surrogate reaction method [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
Surrogate reaction method is an important approach to overcome the difficulties meet in the direct measurement of neutron induced nuclear reaction. The current existing surrogate reactions generally employ the peripheral reactions such as inelastic ...

Glauber-model analysis of total reaction cross sections for Ne, Mg, Si, and S isotopes with Skyrme-Hartree-Fock densities

open access: yes, 2012
A systematic analysis is made on the total reaction cross sections for Ne, Mg, Si, and S isotopes. The high-energy nucleus-nucleus collision is described based on the Glauber model. Using the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock method in the three-dimensional grid-space

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
