Analysis of a reaction-diffusion system of ƛ -w type [PDF]
The author studies two coupled reaction-diffusion equations of 'ƛ - w' type, on an open, bounded, convex domain Ω C R(^d) (d ≤ 3), with a boundary of class C(^2), and homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions.

Determining the reaction enthalpy in pyrolysis and combustion at realistic process conditions [PDF]
Understanding and optimising processes during combustion or converting biomass to carbon materials requires information about reaction enthalpies, ideally determined experimentally at industrially relevant conditions.

Gallium microalloying redirects interfacial reactions in low‐temperature Bi–Sn solders from Cu–Sn toward Cu–Ga intermetallic formation. The resulting Cu–Ga layer suppresses intermetallic growth during thermal aging, alters fracture pathways, and improves interfacial stability.

Group Contribution (GC) methods to predict thermochemical properties are eminently important in chemical process design. Following our earlier work in which a Group Contribution (GC) model was presented to account for the gas-phase heat of formation of ...

Characterizing the Gibbs energy of activation and the enthalpy of reactions typically requires repeated sampling. In this study, a new calorimetric reaction-characterization technique was developed for thermokinetic analysis in a flow reactor. The method

HEA interlayers offer a versatile route for joining high‐performance structural materials. Their compositional and structural design regulates interfacial reactions, suppresses brittle IMCs, and improves metallurgical bonding. Sandwich interlayers further integrate defect healing with precipitation strengthening, enabling improved strength–ductility ...

Ab initio quantification of the oxygen-hemoglobin dissociation curve
Uptake of oxygen by hemoglobin (Hb), described by the oxygen-Hb dissociation curve, is obviously important for the existence of all vertebrates. Its sigmoidal curve shape indicates that oxygen binds more tightly if sites already are occupied, commonly ...

Cu and combined Cu–P microalloying refine the microstructure and enhance the nanoindentation‐derived fracture resistance of CoNiAlSi ferromagnetic shape memory alloys without suppressing the martensitic transformation. Comparative SEM, DSC, and nanoindentation results reveal that the CuP‐containing alloy provides the most balanced response, achieving ...
