Anti-sintering ZrO2-modified Ni/alpha-Al2O3 catalyst for CO methanation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
To obviously reduce the sintering behavior of Ni particles in Ni/alpha-Al2O3 catalysts during CO methanation reaction, ZrO2 was deposited onto the Ni/a-Al2O3 catalyst surface by a modified impregnation method.

Investigation of Effective Parameters In the Synthesis of Mullite – Zirconia Composite Formed by Gel Casting Process

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Materials in Engineering, 2013
In this study, mullite– irconia composite samples were prepared by reaction sintering of alumina and zircon powder via gel casting process. Gel casting is a new ceramic forming technique. This process is based on the casting of slurry, containing ceramic

All‐Optical Reconfigurable Physical Unclonable Function for Sustainable Security

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐optical reconfigurable physical unclonable function (PUF) is demonstrated using plasmonic coupling–induced sintering of optically trapped gold nanoparticles, where Brownian motion serves as a robust entropy source. The resulting optical PUF exhibits high encoding density, strong resistance to modeling attacks, and practical authentication ...

The strength of reaction sintered .BETA.-sialon.

open access: yesJournal of the Ceramic Association, Japan, 1980
The high density β-sialon was fabricated under the presence of SiO vapor. The increase in the amount of excess Al2O3 over “balanced” sialon composition increased the density of sintered sialon and the amount of intergranular X-phase.The bending strength of reaction sintered β-sialon was measured from room temperature to 1400°C.

Synthesis and tribology of Sialon/TiB2 ceramic composites [PDF]

open access: yes
The inclusion of TiB2 particles in a Si3N4 or sialon matrix has the potential to improve the materials properties over those of the Si3N4 alone. The combination of the excellent properties of sialon and the high hardness of the TiB2 makes these ...

Fabrication of wavy type porous triple-layer SC-SOFC via in-situ observation of curvature evolution during co-sintering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Wavy type Single Chamber Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SC-SOFCs) have been shown to be conducive to improving the effective electrochemical reaction area contributing to higher performance, compared with planar type SC-SOFCs of the same diameter.

Programmable 3D Photovoltaics via Mechanically Origami‐Coded Interlocked 3D Kirigami and Nano‐Root Anchored AgNWs–In–Ga Multiphasic Alloy Conductor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Mechanically origami‐coded 3D kirigami photovoltaics convert a single extension–release cycle into deterministic self‐folding, reconfiguring planar solar cells into programmable 3D modules. Distinct coding strategies enable either ultrahigh stretchability (500% system strain) or ultrahigh initial effective areal coverage (225%).
