Sintering Reactions of Zinc Oxide

Journal of Applied Physics, 1959
The sintering of zinc oxide spheres has been studied in the temperature range 700 to 900°C in air, oxygen, helium, and hydrogen. Fresh zinc oxide sinters rapidly in air and oxygen, but it does not sinter appreciably in helium in the same temperature range.

Reaction sintering of Fe-Al-Si alloys

Journal of Phase Equilibria, 2002
The present study concerns the production of multiphase alloys of the Fe-Al-Si system using a powder metallurgical approach. Several compositions have been considered based on α-Fe, α′-FeAl; and α″-Fe3Al intermetallic phases. Elemental powder mixtures were compacted and sintered in a dilatometer.

Expansion during the reaction sintering of PZT

Ceramurgia International, 1980
Abstract Expansion during the reaction sintering of PZT from PT and PZ constituents was studied at different molar ratios, for different particle sizes, and different temperatures: compositional and particle size effects were observed. The expansion is related to the size of the PT particles present and exhibits a maximum at 50 mole% PT for equal ...

Reaction sintering of fluorine-doped MgSiN2

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2004
Abstract Reaction bonded MgSiN 2 (RBMSN) with CaF 2 and YbF 3 , as sintering additives was prepared by direct nitridation of Si/Mg 2 Si/Mg/Si 3 N 4 powder compact in a temperature range 1350–1550 °C. The influence of the ratio of constituents on the final phase composition, the amount of sintering additives and the influence of sintering ...

Hydrothermal Reaction Sintering of High Density Sintered Oxides

1989
Hydrothermal Reaction Sintering is one of methods to produce high density oxides ceramics. Oxide formation occurs between metal and high temperature and high pressure solutions at certain temperature, pressure and time. $$ Me + {H_2}O \to Me{O_X} + {H_2} $$

Microstructure of cBN-diamond sintered compact prepared by reaction sintering

Journal of Materials Science, 1991
cBN-diamond composite sintered compacts (diamond content 15–70 wt %) were prepared by reaction sintering at 7–7.5 GPa and 1400–1700 °C for 10–30 min from the starting powder of the hBN-diamond system in the presence of 1 wt % NH4NO3 as a volatile catalyst. A fully dense sintered compact with 99% conversion from hBN to cBN was obtained at 7 GPa and 1700

Microwave Reaction Sintering of Oxide Ceramics

Journal of Microwave Power and Electromagnetic Energy, 1992
A120 3-Mg0 and A1203:Zr02-Si02 mixtures were reaction sintered in a single mode cylindrical cavity applicator CMPR250 operating at 2.45 GHz in the TM012 mode to form spinel MgA1204 and Zr02 dispersed mullite matrix composites respectively. High heating rates at low power levels were achieved. Consequently, fine grain size and high density were achieved.
