Protection against collagen-induced arthritis in mice afforded by the parasitic worm product, ES-62, is associated with restoration of the levels of IL-10-producing B cells and reduced plasma cell infiltration of the joints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We have previously reported that ES-62, a molecule secreted by the parasitic filarial nematode Acanthocheilonema viteae, protects mice from developing collagen-induced arthritis (CIA).

Pathogenesis of Reactive Arthritis.

open access: yesInternal Medicine, 1999
Reactive arthritis is a member of the spondyloarthropathy. Bacteria which cause reactive arthritis infect the mucosal surfaces. Either the whole bacteria or their fragments are subsequently carried to the joints inside which are induced a TH1 lymphocyte response in which oligoclonal T lymphocytes as well peptide-specific CD8+ T lymphocytes participate.

Modular Control of PEG‐Poly(2‐Oxazoline) Co‐Assembly Enables Tunable Aggregate Properties for Intraocular Pressure Management

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A thermo‐responsive poly(2‐oxazoline)‐based injectable formulation is developed to modulate intraocular pressure (IOP) in both normal and hypotonic eyes. By adjusting the PEG content, the aggregation behavior is finely tuned, enabling IOP elevation without long‐term deposition.

HOF‐Stabilized Apple EV Nanocargo in an NIR‐Responsive Hydrogel Enables On‐Demand Therapeutic Modulation for Transdermal Deep‐Joint Osteoarthritis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An NIR‐responsive transdermal hydrogel integrating apple EV nanocargo, berberine, piperine, HOFs, and graphene oxide enables localized osteoarthritis modulation. The platform supports enhanced transdermal delivery together with mild hyperthermia‐associated and redox‐related responses, leading to reduced inflammation and oxidative stress, improved ...
