Hydrogen storage properties of the 2LiBH4–MgH2 reactive hydride composite doped with Ti additives and Al

open access: yes, 2013
The practical application of hydrogen as new energy vector presents several problems that have not been solved yet. One of the major constraints is the lack of a safe, compact and efficient way to store hydrogen, mainly for mobile applications. Solid–hydrogen storage is one of the potential solutions.

Investigation on different composition of powder metallurgy electrode (Cu-W) in high performance edm (HPEDM) on AISI D2 hardened steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The ideal selection of manufacturing conditions is one of the most important aspects to take into consideration in the majority of manufacturing processes and particularly in processes related to Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM).

Geminal Difunctionalization of Ketones via C─S Bond Insertion of Photogenerated Donor–Donor Diazo Compounds

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Geminal difunctionalization of readily available building blocks provides rapid access to molecular complexity. This work introduces a strategy for installing two distinct functional groups on a carbonyl carbon by transforming it into a donor–donor diazo compound, enabling both batch and flow applications with broad solvent compatibility.

Forcing the Side‐on π‐Coordination of a C≡C Triple Bond to Technetium Using the As,CC,As Alkyne Pincer Ligand 1,2‐Bis(2‐(diisopropylarsaneyl)‐4‐(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)Ethyne

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Technetium alkyne complexes have eluded isolation for decades with the only indicators for their existence being the isolation of vinylidene carbenes or their follow‐up reaction products despite plentiful of reports for neighboring elements. Stable, crystalline Tc(III) and Tc(V) alkyne complexes (and their Re analogs) have now been prepared and fully ...

Integrating agro‐residue valorization and clean hydrogen production: coconut fiber‐based catalysts for NaBH4 hydrolysis

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract A novel phosphoric acid‐treated green coconut fiber (GCF‐C) was developed as a catalyst for hydrogen production from the hydrolysis of sodium borohydride (NaBH4). Characterization techniques confirmed structural modifications, including X‐ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, X‐ray fluorescence, Fourier transform infrared, and ...
