The intermetallic compound Mg2Ni was mechanically ground under a hydrogen atmosphere to synthesize a nanostructured composite material that is composed of nanocrystalline intra-grain and disordered inter-grain regions. Both the thermal and magnetic analyses confirmed that a volume fraction of the latter region increases twenty times as much as that in ...

Hydrogen back pressure remarkably promotes the formation of metal boride during the dehydrogenation of 4LiBH4 + YH3, 6LiBH4 + CeH2 and 6LiBH4 + CaH2 composites, which seems to be a general phenomenon in LiBH4-based reactive hydride composites that enables mutual destabilization between LiBH4 and metal hydride.

For hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) film growth governed by SiH3 plasma radicals, the surface reaction probability b of SiH3 and the silicon hydride (–SiHx) composition of the a-Si:H surface have been investigated by timeresolved cavity ringdown and attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy, respectively. The surface hydride composition

Hydrogen Storage Properties of Nanoconfined LiBH4–Mg2NiH4 Reactive Hydride Composites
The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2015LiBH4–Mg2NiH4 reactive hydride composites have been nanoconfined into two types of mesoporous carbons: a templated carbon with ordered small pores of ∼4 nm and a carbon aerogel with pores size of ∼30 nm. In situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction has revealed the formation of the MgNi2.5B2 compound during dehydrogenation at 300 °C and 5 bar of H2 pressure ...

The hydrogen storage properties of the Li-Mg-N-H system composed of Mg(NH2)2 and LiH are investigated. In the last decade, the Li-Mg-N-H system attracted increasing attention due to its high hydrogen storage capacity (5.5 wt.%), favourable dehydrogenation enthalpy (∆H ≈ 40 kJ∙mol-1H2) and good reversibility.

Activation of the reactive hydride composite 2NaBH(4) + MgH(2) RID A-2096-2009 RID B-4391-2009
2011A novel method to enhance the reaction kinetics of the reactive hydride composite 2NaBH4 + MgH2 is described. It has been discovered that short-term exposure to a moist atmosphere has a very beneficial effect on the desorption reaction of the 2NaBH4 + MgH2 mixture.
