Distributed Optimal Reactive Power Control of Power Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
To accommodate the increasing penetration level of distributed generators (DGs) in the electrical energy power system, appropriate reactive power control of DGs, which can lead to the voltage profile improvement and power loss minimization, should be addressed.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Distributed Reactive Power Control Strategy of Distribution Network Considering Massive Distributed Energy Access

open access: yesZhongguo dianli
In view of the influence of unconventional safety risks on new power systems, a two-layer cooperative reactive power control strategy considering the uncertainty of source load was proposed.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

RESEARCH OF THE MODES OF FULL COMPENSATION OF REACTIVE POWER IN A THREE-PHASE POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM

open access: yesElectrical engineering & Electromechanics, 2019
Introduction The article is devoted to the issues of current balancing and reactive power compensation in a three-phase power supply system. Optimal in all these respects is the mode of full compensation of reactive power, by which we mean such a ...

Optimization of the operation of smart rural grids through a novel rnergy management system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The paper proposes an innovative Energy Management System (EMS) that optimizes the grid operation based on economic and technical criteria. The EMS inputs the demand and renewable generation forecasts, electricity prices and the status of the distributed

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A goal programming methodology for multiobjective optimization of distributed energy hubs operation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper addresses the problem of optimal energy flow management in multicarrier energy networks in the presence of interconnected energy hubs. The overall problem is here formalized by a nonlinear constrained multiobjective optimization problem and ...

Power Tracing Monitoring incorporating Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering & Technology, 2018
General power flow studies do not manage to trace the contributors by generators on power losses in the whole power transmission system. Thus, power tracing approach is utilized to address this issue. Power tracing is a termed used to describe the contributors for the power losses dissipated on the transmission line.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.
