Distribution and Aetiology of Thrombocytosis in Inpatients Setting of a Tertiary Care Hospital: A Cross-section Study from Western Maharashtra, India [PDF]
Introduction: Thrombocytosis is characterised by an increased platelet count in the blood, defined as a count greater than 450,000 cells/μL. The incidental discovery of thrombocytosis often leads to unnecessary investigations and referrals, causing ...

REACTIVE TRHOMBOCYTOSIS IN CHILDREN [PDF]
Thrombocytosis is a condition which the platelet count exceeds 450,000/mm3. Thrombocytosis was classified as: mild (450,000-700,000/mm3), moderate (700,000-900,000/mm3), severe (900,000-1,000,000/mm3) and extreme (1,000,000/mm3).

Reactive thrombocytosis in pulmonary tuberculosis. [PDF]
The incidence of reactive thrombocytosis in active pulmonary tuberculosis was studied in 122 patients. Thrombocytosis was common, platelet counts often exceeding 1 X 10(12)/1. A significant inverse correlation was noted between the mean platelet volume and the platelet count (r = -0.54, p less than 0.0001).

Study of Reactive Thrombocytosis in Children
Thrombocytosis, or elevations of platelet count in the peripheral blood to values >400,000/mm3, is common in infancy and childhood, occurring in 3-13% of children. Primary thrombocytosis is divided into familial & essential thrombocytosis, while reactive thrombocytosis occurs frequently.
