Counterions Determine if Metal‐Organic Cages Convert SO2 to Sulfate or Reversibly Adsorb It

Different counterions modulate the solid‐state SO2 adsorption behavior in M6L8 Metal‐Organic Cages (M=Pd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II)). Certain anions induce reversible SO2‐adsorption, while nitrate promotes its transformation to sulfate at room temperature.

Achieving Sub‐ppm Sensitivity in SO2 Detection with a Chemically Stable Covalent Organic Framework
