Estimation of material degradation of VVER-1000 baffle
The planned lifetime of the first commercial VVER-1000 units were designed for 30 to 35 years. Most of the early VVER plants are now reaching and/or passing the 35-year mark.

This study investigates the reduction behavior of two international iron ores, including a synthetic hematite produced by oxidation of magnetite, in a novel fluidized‐bed kinetic reactor at elevated pressures. The reduction takes place at various temperatures (650°C, 700°C, and 750°C), and various hydrogen partial pressures (30, 55, and 80 vol% H2 ...

Improving the safety and reliability of reactor pressure vessel steels
The mechanical properties of reactor pressure vessel (RPV) steels are known to degrade during operation. Hardening embrittlement, due to solute cluster/precipitate formation, and non-hardening embrittlement, as a result of solute segregation to internal interfaces, are a major concern.

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Prediction of radiation swelling of VVER-1000 reactors baffle ring for service life up to 30–60 years [PDF]
In the paper based of data concerning the swelling of steel 18Cr10NiTi under irradiation in BOR-60 fast reactor and ESUVI heavy ion accelerator prediction dependence of swelling from the temperature and irradiation dose in the wide range of dose rates is

ABSTRACT Per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are persistent environmental contaminants widely recognized for their resistance to degradation and potential adverse health effects. The treatment of PFAS‐contaminated aqueous media (e.g., drinking water, wastewater, and leachate) has been extensively studied in the published literature; however, the
