Kalman Filter for Noise Reducer on Sensor Readings
Most systems nowadays require high-sensitivity sensors to increase its system performances. However, high-sensitivity sensors, i.e. accelerometer and gyro, are very vulnerable to noise when reading data from environment. Noise on data-readings can be fatal since the real measured-data contribute to the performance of a controller, or the augmented ...

Near‐Infrared Light‐Driven Zn/Au Janus Micromotors for Multiplex SERS Detection of Anticancer Drugs
Zn/Au Janus micromotors, propelled by thermophoretic effects under NIR light, function as active SERS platforms for single and multiplex detection of anticancer drugs. Their dynamic motion enhances analyte exchange at the Au interface, reducing saturation and competitive adsorption, thereby improving sensitivity and extending the linear detection range.

We use scanning nitrogen vacancy magnetometry to directly image the weak in‐plane magnetic moments in mixed phase BiFeO3 at the nanoscale and quantify the local magnetic moments to be 18.8±2.0 μB/nm2 in the rhombohedral‐like phase and 1.5±0.6 μB/nm2 in the well‐known non‐magnetic tetragonal‐like phase.

Maximal viral information recovery from sequence data using VirMAP
Viral taxonomic characterization from metagenomic data suffers from high background noise and signal crosstalk. Here, the authors develop VirMAP, a novel pipeline for analyses of metagenomic data that classifies viral reconstructions independent of ...

How Scholars Read Now: When the Signal Is the Noise
Distraction is not a problem for scholarly reading in the humanities: it is, in fact, intrinsic to how we work. An openness to distraction facilitates knowledge creation in conversation with and between sources, bringing together disparate times and places, authors and forms of source material, frames of reference and layers of insight, harnessing ...

Metasurfaces and other structured photonic environments can dramatically modify the absorption and/or light emission of semiconductors. However, the consequences of these changes on the temperature of the system are not well understood. The authors address this problem for colloidal nanocrystals and leverage their findings to convert light into ...
