Objective Knee osteoarthritis (OA) commonly affects individuals with Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and is associated with increased risk of diabetes‐related complications. To better understand potential mechanisms, we examined the association between symptomatic knee OA and glycemic control in individuals with T2DM.

Associations of Sleep and Shift Work with Osteoarthritis Risk
Objective Daily rhythms may be critical for maintaining homeostasis of joint tissues. We aimed to investigate the relationships between circadian clock disruption, sleep, and osteoarthritis (OA) risk in humans. Methods In the UK Biobank, a prospective 500,000‐person cohort, we evaluated associations between sleep duration, sleeplessness/insomnia, and ...

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

A Trade-Off between Somatosensory and Auditory Related Brain Activity during Object Naming But Not Reading. [PDF]
The parietal operculum, particularly the cytoarchitectonic area OP1 of the secondary somatosensory area (SII), is involved in somatosensory feedback. Using fMRI with 58 human subjects, we investigated task-dependent differences in SII/OP1 activity during

A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...
