A STUDY ON THE READING SKILLS OF EFL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

open access: yesTEFLIN Journal, 2009
: The present study attempts to investigate kinds of reading skills that EFL (English as a Foreign Language) University students have difficulty with. For this purpose, two reading tests which covered seventeen kinds of reading skills were developed and ...

Review of Thin Lithium Metal Battery Anode Fabrication – Microstructure – Electrochemistry Relations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thin, lightweight lithium‐metal anodes are pivotal for practical high‐energy batteries. This review surveys processing routes that convert diverse Li precursors, e.g., ingots, melts, solutions, and vapor, into Li‐rich foils with controlled thickness, areal density, and tailored functionality.

Excited State Opto‐Ionic Reservoir Computing in Hybrid Perovskite Electrochemically‐Gated Luminescent Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A neuromorphic computing system exploiting opto‐ionic modulation in lead halide perovskite microcrystals demonstrates high‐dimensional reservoir dynamics with diffraction‐limited node resolution. Leveraging ultrafast excited‐state interactions, it achieves efficient computation (800 pJ/node‐operation), robustly distinguishing 4‐bit pulse sequences ...

Vision and reading difficulties part 2: optometric correlates of reading difficulties

open access: yes, 2009
In this second article of the series on vision and reading difficulties, the optometric factors (for example refractive error and orthoptic function) that may be associated with reading problems are discussed in detail. The first article of this series introduced the correlates of, and interventions for, reading difficulties that have been supported by

A Reading Apprenticeship Model for Improving Literacy: A Pre-service Teacher Case Study

open access: yes, 2007
A major challenge of today\u27s standards-based assessment movement targets the need to address and improve the achievement of struggling readers. As teacher education programs must prepare content teachers to address the challenges of teaching students ...

Giant Berry‐phase‐Driven X‐Ray Beam Translations in Strain‐Engineered Semiconductor Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Due to the Berry‐phase effect, X‐rays propagating in deformed crystals undergo large translations, interesting for X‐ray optics applications. Here, the lattice expansion observed upon H irradiation of dilute‐nitride semiconductors is exploited to engineer the deformation landscape of selectively hydrogenated GaAsN epilayers.
