Development of a portable toolkit to diagnose coral thermal stress
Coral bleaching, precipitated by the expulsion of the algal symbionts that provide colonies with fixed carbon is a global threat to reef survival. To protect corals from anthropogenic stress, portable tools are needed to detect and diagnose stress ...

Identification and purification of an endogenous receptor for the lectin pallidin from Polysphondylium pallidum. [PDF]
We report the identification and purification of an endogenous carbohydrate-containing receptor of pallidin, the cell surface lectin implicated in mediating cell-cell adhesion in the cellular slime mold Polysphondylium pallidum.

Within‐clinic Reagent Strip Lipid Measurement
The agreement between the Reflotron dry chemistry analyser and laboratory methods for measurement of total cholesterol and triglycerides was assessed by studying the between‐method variability for individual samples. A paired comparison of replicate measurements from venous blood was made for 105 cholesterol and 90 triglyceride specimens.

Technology Behind Diagnostic Reagent Strips [PDF]
Diagnostic reagent strips are commonly used in clinical analysis of urine and blood, in particular for monitoring glucose concentration. Results are obtained instrumentally or visually as thresholds and quantitative outputs. Dry reagents are applied in the construction of strips in a variety of ways.
