Vision-Degree-Driven Loading Strategy for Real-Time Large-Scale Scene Rendering

open access: yesComputers
Large-scale scene rendering faces challenges in managing massive scene data and mitigating rendering latency caused by suboptimal loading sequences. Although current approaches utilize Level of Detail (LOD) for dynamic resource loading, two limitations ...

CityGML goes mobile: application of large 3D CityGML models on smartphones

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth, 2019
CityGML, a semantic information model for digital/virtual city models has become quite popular in various scenarios. While the data format is still actively under development, it is already supported by different software solutions, especially GIS-based ...

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

A method of using image-view pairs to represent complex 3D objects

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2018
Manually building models of complex objects is usually very difficult. 3D scanning can provide accurate models, but the required processing of very large data sets is time-consuming and not suitable for real-time applications. This paper presents a novel

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Distributed high-fidelity graphics using P2P [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In the field of three-dimensional computer graphics, rendering refers to the process of generating images of a scene from a particular viewpoint. There are many different ways to do this, from the highly interactive real-time rendering methods to the ...
