Real-Time Simulation of Transesophageal Echocardiography
2014In this paper we describe an approach to interactively render ultrasound images for a transesophageal echocardiogram procedure. Our prototype features an animated 3D model of a human heart that is used to synthesize virtual ultrasound images in real-time. The user can control the probe and interact with the simulator via a GUI or with a haptics device.

In this paper, a multiscale fluid model based on Navier-Stokes is proposed, and the operator splitting method is employed to split the model into advection term, diffusion term, external force term and projection term. Every step is stable, so the whole process is also stable.

Aspects of Real-Time Simulation
IRE Transactions on Electronic Computers, 1958Present day digital computers are too slow for the comprehensive real-time simulation of complex electronic systems such as those involving guided missiles. Computers appearing 2-3 years hence will be sufficiently fast for these applications. There is and will continue to be fertile application fields for analog-digital computer combinations.
